Imunify360 Keeps Servers Clean By Default
Imunify360 v4.3 has a wider choice of default actions for the malware scanner. Here, we explain what they are.
In Imunify360 version 4.3 we’ve added two additional choices to the Default action on detect menu in the malware scanner. They are Cleanup and Cleanup & Quarantine (as a fallback).
What do these new options do?
- Cleanup: A fully automated and thorough file-system scan and removal of all malware and viruses. Keeps your website completely clean and running smoothly.
- Cleanup/Quarantine: If a file cannot be removed by the cleanup process for any reason (for example, the directory is immutable read-only), the file will instead be quarantined.
System administrators can select only one of these options. We recommend setting Default action on detect to Cleanup. This is the safest and surest option for keeping your servers free from malware, automatically. There's no need for you to manually run scans and check the scan reports. Imunify360 does everything for you.
What's an alternative to Cleanup?
If you have a backup solution and are sure your backup is good, you can use it to restore infected files to their original state. You can do that first before doing a cleanup or cleanup/quarantine.
Where can I change these defaults?
Look in Settings → Malware → General → Default action on detect.
