Release Notes: Imunify360 v.5.9 beta
We’re pleased to announce that a new beta version of Imunify360, version 5.9, is now available. Version 5.9 is more of a maintenance release and contains no major feature updates or crucial changes. However, it precedes the 6.0 release which will bring major feature updates. In brief, version 5.9 prepares your systems for the 6.0 release. The v5.9 beta release includes the following features:
- Renewed and improved blocking capabilities
Our new and optimized approach to processing IP blocks provides an improved speed while keeping the resource consumption lower than before. - Gradual rollout for signatures releases
In this release, an approach to signature release was re-thought to provide a smooth and flexible experience.
This is what we updated in version 5.9:
Renewed and improved blocking capabilities
In a busy working environment, there is always a question of resource distribution and sometimes resource shortages. Keenly aware of this, our team constantly works on making Imunify360 more lightweight and robust. We strive to adjust and tune Imunify360 to produce less load on your systems and consume less CPU and RAM, while making sure that the performance of our solution constantly improves. In the 5.9 release we optimized our agent to process up to several times more IP blocks from a select set of sources like greylist and SplashScreen simultaneously, even faster than before - at no cost to performance.
This improvement further lowers the number of attackers that could possibly attempt malicious actions because their initial actions will ultimately be blocked while giving you a broader insight of security status and control over it – with the help of detailed information readily available in the greylist.
As a rule, we constantly strive to provide you with better security visibility. For example, with our recent Events and Incidents Lookup feature, you can search for data you need across all of your servers. Gradual rollout for malware scanner signatures
We decided to introduce a gradual signature release process that will replace the current one. The purpose of this improvement is to control the process more tightly while monitoring its performance on each step of a rollout. Furthermore, this enhanced approach lets us avoid any possible complications. For example, false-positive behavior could be quickly pinpointed and corrected. Similarly, if anything goes wrong during the process, there is a mechanism to fix it then and there.
This feature functions automatically right out of the box. All changes occur on our side, and no further action from the customer side is needed.
