The new version of Imunify360, version 4.5, is almost here (beta version will be available in December), and it will include default scanning values that should eliminate all risk of malware infection.

These new defaults not only provide a tighter basic defense, they also enable our analysts to perceive more threats and deliver faster updates.

Real-time scanning is now ON by default, as is the Cleanup option in the regular backup scan. In terms of specific changes, these are the default values that have been switched: 

1. The real-time (inotify) scan is now ON. 
2. The RapidScan option is now ON. 
3. When malware is detected, the default action is now Cleanup Or Quarantine As A Fallback.
4. Background scan is now ON, and runs every month.
5. In scanning PHP applications, Blamer is now enabled by default. 

Note: These new default values are applied only to new installations of the new version. They won’t affect existing servers running Imunify360. 

For current installations of previous Imunify360 versions, we recommend: 

• Switching the Quarantine default to Clean And Quarantine As A Fallback. 
• Enabling RapidScan to speed up re-scans. This will make background scans 20x faster.
• Enabling real-time scanning, to catch malware infections before they can do any harm.

To make these changes, just use these commands:
